County Square Shopping Centre is one of Ashford’s three main shopping destinations, alongside Park Mall and the Ashford Designer Outlet.
Located in the heart of the town centre – less than a mile from Ashford International’s fast rail links to London and Europe – County Square has been transformed over recent years .
As well as big high street fashion brands, there’s a whole world of shopping all under one roof, from homeware to gadgets to sporting goods and much more. There are plenty of places to enjoy a coffee or a bite to eat with regular events such as fashion shows and food & drink fairs. It is also just over the road from Elwick Place, a new 100,000 sq ft leisure and restaurant development, scheduled to open in December 2018.
On 20 March 2007, County Square opened its new extended shopping mall to accommodate its new anchor store Debenhams as well as stores such as New Look, Next, River Island and Waterstones. The extension saw the centre double in size, increasing its store total to 60 and its car parking facilities to 600.
The extension to County Square continued in January 2010 with the introduction of GZ Computers, which was positioned in the older part of the centre prior to the extension. Watch Town, an independent watch store, was also introduced into the centre, as well as SilverLeaf, an independent jeweller. A kiosk selling confectionery, drinks, tobacco and newspapers (managed by the staff who operate Ashford News in Bank Street) has also been introduced into the new extension. A Tiny Tots Farm soft play area is among the new features for 2018.
The centre is separated into six areas: North Mall, Main Square, Central Mall, South Square, South Mall and The Oval. To find out more, visit the County Square website.
