“Ashford is the most positive I have seen it in the last ten years,” a confident and encouraging statement from Gary Bourne of Stanhope. The developers behind proposals for new retail, leisure, residential and business space on what is currently a 6.65 acre vacant brownfield site at Elwick Place.
“Ashford as a location is a great opportunity for retailers and operators. Elwick Place will provide space for businesses to expand and cater for a rapidly growing community of Ashford residents. The leisure scheme will complement the existing offerings in Ashford including McArthurGlen and Eureka Park whilst bolstering Ashford town centre.”
“The future for Ashford is exciting”, says Mr Bourne, who remembers days gone by when choices for restaurants and leisure were few.
Stanhope is using a local architect for the Elwick Place project who also sits on the Ashford Design Forum.
“Keeping things local is also key to meet the needs of residents rather than waiting for demand,” says Mr Bourne.
“Residents and businesses will have the opportunity to live and work in a vibrant area within walking distance of the town centre with immediate access to the high speed line, France and the M20.”
