International Signalling

The Ashford International Signalling project is an upgrade of signalling that will ensure Ashford remains Kent’s most European town with the introduction of the new Class 374 Eurostar trains and any future new international operators.

The project at Ashford International Station will allow any international train to call at Ashford in the future through the introduction of KVB signalling on the chords between High Speed 1 and Ashford International Station.

This £10.5 million project is fully funded through support from the South East Local Enterprise Partnership, as well as from the project partners Kent County Council, Ashford Borough Council, Network Rail, Eurostar and High Speed 1, and early feasibility funding coming from the EU funded Regions of Connected Knowledge project (RoCK).

Due to be completed in Spring 2018, this project will sustain Ashford’s International Status and provide the opportunity for expanded services to the continent in the future.
