Grant applications open for Rural England Prosperity Fund

Ashford Borough Council has successfully obtained its allocation from the UK Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and the Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF).

The Council’s allocation for the upcoming grants from the Rural England Prosperity Fund amounts to £315,786. With this funding, the Council is implementing two grant schemes which is now open for businesses to apply for.

There are four different grants now taking applications. Businesses are encouraged to apply by 13 October.

Rural Investment Grant of between £3,000 to £10,000. The funding aims to support the creation and uptake of start-up space for food and drink producers, hospitality or tourism businesses or businesses in sectors supporting these industries. Hospitality includes restaurants, cafes, pubs, catering, hotels, campsites and other accommodation.

The Rural Boost Grant of £500 to £3,000 This grant aims to facilitate projects in commercial premises in rural areas of the Ashford Borough for food and drink production businesses and those in the hospitality and tourism sectors. This grant will support that business to improve productivity, operational processes and support its viability and growth.

Energy Efficiency Grant of up to £5,000 This grant supports energy efficiency projects, such as installing insulation, in commercial premises in rural areas of the borough.

Rural Energy Transition Grant up to £15,000 Aiming to support energy transition projects, such as installing solar panels, for commercial premises in rural areas of the borough.
