Skills courses for Ashford residents and employees

Those who live or work in Ashford may be eligible to study a free Green Skills course offered by East Kent College.

Ashford Borough Council has partnered with East Kent Colleges encompassing Ashford College to deliver a range of fully-funded courses for those over the age of 19 who live in, and those who are employed by a company registered in the Ashford Borough Council region.

From Green Skills to Coaching and Mentoring, the range of courses are designed to help
develop skills and unlock future job opportunities in the borough.

The Green Skills training courses will include certifications in retrofitting properties with new green-tech, as well as two Level 3 qualifications in both Air Source and Ground Source Heat Pumps.

The free courses have been specially designed to develop the emerging green technology workforce with the skills they need to help the borough in its transition to a net-zero future.

It will be a big boost for Ashford’s employers and businesses, with new skilled people helping the local economy grow.
