Boys Hall
Boys Hall, nestled in Ashford, Kent is a lovingly restored 17th-century Jacobean Manor, a 38 minute train ride from London St.Pancras International.
Boys Hall has undergone months of refurbishment to transform it into a beautiful restaurant with rooms set within three acres of grounds. The bijoux country manor features a 70-seater restaurant, a wood-clad pub, multiple reception and private dining rooms as well as nine uniquely beautiful ensuite bedrooms.
Built in 1616, husband and wife team, Bradley and Kristie Lomas restored the house to its former glory to create the ‘getaway destination of their dreams’ which now the public can enjoy. The couple relocated from London to Ashford in 2019 with their young family to take on this labour of love.
It was when the couple relocated and were living with Kristie’s parents in Ashford, that the opportunity arose. Bradley explained: “When we were staying in Ashford, the question of where to go, in and around Ashford always came up.
“We saw the refurbishment of the historic manor as a great opportunity to create a unique experience in Ashford for like-minded people. Once we started building, we knew we had an amazing space to work with.”

Boys Hall has been included in Ashford Borough Council’s Ashford Food and Drink Festival for two years running. The popular ‘Tasting Evening with Wine Garden of England ’ included canapes, carefully chosen and created by Boys Hall to complement each of the eight wines from award-winning Kent vineyards.
In addition, the luxurious retreat has won a host of esteemed accolades since its opening. It was listed the ‘World’s Best Country House Retreat’ in the National Geographic Traveller UK as well as being featured in The Sunday Times Guide, the Best 100 Places to Stay. The boutique manor won the approval of notorious food critics and has been added to the Michelin Guide. Plus, Paul McCartney celebrated his 82nd birthday at Boys Hall in 2024.
The restaurant sits in an extension to the main house and serves the finest local Kent produce, with Romney Marsh lamb a firm favourite. Great wines, also from Kent, are available to pair with your food and, should you wish to grab a drink before dining, the grounds also house a pub with a terrace.
In addition to the main restaurant there is a carefully curated 20-cover private dining room and a tiny pub, tucked into the oldest part of the building. Boys Hall is perfectly placed for touring England’s wine country: Chapel Down, Biddenden Vineyards, Westwell, Woodchurch Wine Estate and Gusbourne are all in Ashford and within a 20 minute drive and in recent years have all begun hosting events.
